Staff from Ironwood State Prison joined a Blythe community event in November as part of National Night Out.
Members of the Ironwood State Prison Employees’ Association and Ironwood Dog Training Academy joined local law enforcement Nov. 4 at Todd Park in Blythe.
Participating agencies included:
- California Highway Patrol
- Blythe Police Department
- US Border Patrol
- La Paz County Sheriff’s Department
- Riverside County Probation Department
- Riverside County Department of Animal Services
- Blythe Fire Department
- and California Department of Food and Agriculture
The event featured K-9 demonstrations, interactive law enforcement displays, food, giveaways, music, games, face painting, and much more.
Two dog-training animals, Bear and Belle, started their next chapter and found their forever homes during National Night Out as well.
This free, family-friendly event is organized by the Colorado River Sheriff’s Station and is part of a nationwide initiative to strengthen partnerships and build safer, stronger communities.
