The LAC Facility C Walk-A-Thon, held Dec. 11, brought together incarcerated participants and staff in support of cancer awareness. Through donations and participation, the LAC event promoted unity, healthy activities, wellness, and community responsibility. The generosity shown by participants helped raise funds for a meaningful cause. Their actions also reinforced the importance of compassion, rehabilitation, and collective action within the institution.

Incarcerated learn how to Be Well

Incarcerated people learn healthy ways to deal with stress at CSP-LAC.

The Be Well Workshop, held Dec. 8 on LAC Facility A, offered 50 incarcerated participants with a meaningful opportunity to focus on wellness, mindfulness, and restorative practices. Led by Darnell Campbell and the Be Well team, the event began with guided breathing exercises. This helped participants center themselves and reduce stress. This was followed by a 45-minute yoga session to encourage physical balance, flexibility, and mindful movement.

The workshop concluded with a question-and-answer segment, giving individuals the chance to reflect, ask questions, and gain insight into maintaining personal wellness.

The Be Well team fostered a supportive environment that emphasized emotional health, self-awareness, and tools for managing daily challenges. Overall, the event promoted positive programming and provided participants with techniques they can apply to improve their well-being.
