CDCR connects via Small Business Administration event

CDCR is making connections thanks to staff from the Office of Business Services (OBS) participating in a recent Small Business Administration (SBA) event.

Acting Small Business and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (SB/DVBE) Advocates Julia Diener and Elizabeth Fisher from OBS took part in the SBA Procurement Fair in Citrus Heights. This allowed them to connect with small businesses interested in doing business with the department.

The March 12 procurement fair, hosted by the SBA Sacramento District Office, brought together small businesses looking to do business with the state. The event was held at the SBA Sacramento District Office in Citrus Heights.

During the event, CDCR representatives engaged directly with small business owners. They shared information about the department’s procurement processes, upcoming contracting opportunities, and participation in the state’s SB/DVBE Program. The outreach also provided guidance to vendors on how to become certified and how to compete for state contracts. Events like this provide an opportunity to meet directly with small businesses, helping them better understand how to engage with CDCR.

Participation in events this allows CDCR to strengthen partnerships with the small business community. They also promote awareness of contracting opportunities, and support statewide efforts to expand participation in public sector procurement.
