Avenal State Prison (ASP) recently hosted a staff health fair bringing employees together to explore valuable resources and connect with colleagues.
The Sept. 30 health fair featured organizations such as:
- Grand Canyon University
- CAL Retirees
- Yard Down
- Savings Plus
- Cal Solutions
- Cal HR
- Butler Uniform and Compass Uniform
- as well as partners offering information about savings, insurance and health services.

Staff had the opportunity to visit informational booths and ask questions. They learned about educational opportunities, employee benefits and available products and services.
The fair also featured music, food, popcorn and door prizes. This helped create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone who attended. Beyond providing helpful information, the event encouraged meaningful conversations and strengthened connections among employees from different areas of the institution.
“Avenal State Prison appreciates the participating vendors and everyone who helped make the event possible,” organizers said. “Their support contributed to an enjoyable gathering promoting staff wellness, teamwork and a continued sense of community throughout the institution and its workforce.”
