14010.21 Legal Copying Services

  • Copy service is provided as a convenience for incarcerated persons in preparing legal documents. An incarcerated person is limited to the number of copies required by applicable court rules to be filed with the courts and to be served on all parties and other persons in the litigation. Other persons may include the AGAttorney General’s Office, the incarcerated person’s attorney, and the Secretary’s Office. The incarcerated person shall be provided with one extra copy of the document for his or her own records. One additional copy of a petition for a writ of habeas corpus filed in State court shall be provided to the incarcerated person for mailing to the appropriate DA.

  • Printed forms required by State and federal courts are available to be printed at a charge of 10 cents per page for incarcerated persons.

  • Incarcerated persons shall be required to pay for necessary duplication of printed forms and other written or typed materials, special paper, envelopes, and postage for mailing to the courts, except these items shall be provided at no charge to an indigent incarcerated person as described in CCRCalifornia Code of Regulations 3162 and 3165(d).
