31140.38 Confidentiality of Investigations

  • All investigative records of the OIAOffice of Internal Affairs are confidential. OIAOffice of Internal Affairs investigators, locally designated investigators, OIAOffice of Internal Affairs support staff, and others involved in an investigation/inquiry shall not discuss with others, except Department legal counsel and the OIGOffice of the Inspector General, any aspect of any investigation/inquiry record without approval of OIAOffice of Internal Affairs.

  • All other Department staff not mentioned above involved in an investigation/inquiry, including witnesses and administrators, shall not discuss any aspect of any investigation without approval of OIAOffice of Internal Affairs excepting discussions with their employee representative and legal counsel.
