51121.10 CALPIA Inmate Pay Schedule

Hourly wage rates shall be determined and maintained by the General Manager and published by the CALPIACalifornia Prison Industry Authority (formerly PIA).

All CALPIACalifornia Prison Industry Authority (formerly PIA) inmate positions are to be assigned to one of the following levels:

Special Skills (A).70 .75 .80 Level 3

For each enterprise, the percentage of the inmate work force in each skill level may not exceed the following:
Leadperson (AA)/ Special Skills (A) 25 percent Technician (B) 25 percent Semi-Skill (C) 25 percent Laborer (D) 25 percent -
Depending on actual inmate assignment turnover rate, the C and D pay categories may exceed the 25 percent payroll allocation. This is permissible as long as the C and D combined totals do not exceed 50 percent of payroll.
