CDCRCalifornia Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation utilizes ALPR information for official law enforcement purposes including but not limited to:

Locating incarcerated persons who have escaped from CDCRCalifornia Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation custody.

Locating supervised persons who have absconded parole supervision.

Identifying and locating potential suspects related to crimes.

Assisting in locating wanted persons.

Internal staff investigations.

CDCRCalifornia Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation utilizes subscription-based ALPR information that is collected by other public agencies and private entities that operate ALPR systems and is considered an “end-user” of this information.

ALPR databases shall not be accessed for immigration enforcement. In gathering, sharing, and storing information, CDCRCalifornia Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation complies with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including but not limited to, to the extent applicable, the California Values Act (Government Code Section 7284 et seq.).

In accordance with Penal Code 13778.2, ALPR databases shall not be accessed for investigations of reproductive health.
