53130.3.1 Inmates Serving Life Terms

Exceptions
-
Inmates serving sentences of 25 years to life, 15 years to life, or life with possibility of parole are not eligible for work-time credits underPC § 2933, except for those life inmates sentenced under the following PCPenal Code sections:

PCPenal Code § 191.5(d).

PCPenal Code § 217.1(b).

PCPenal Code § 667.51(d).

PCPenal Code § 667.7(a)(1).

PCPenal Code § 667.75.

The above life term cases are eligible to earn PCPenal Code § 2933 credits toward reduction of their minimum eligible parole dates.

Life Terms with Enhancements or Consecutive Sentences

Inmates sentenced to life terms, who also have determinate sentence law (DSLDeterminate Sentence Law) enhancements imposed on the life term, or who have consecutive DSLDeterminate Sentence Law terms to serve with a life term, may be eligible to receive PCPenal Code § 2933 credits on the DSLDeterminate Sentence Law enhancements and/or the consecutive DSLDeterminate Sentence Law term(s).
