54020.14.1 Refusal to Submit to a Search

  • Visitors who refuse to submit to a clothed or unclothed body search shall have their visiting privileges denied for that day. Future visits may be conditional upon the visitor’s willingness to submit to a clothed or unclothed body search prior to each visit.

  • Any parent or legal guardian refusing to provide consent for clothed or unclothed search of a minor shall be denied the opportunity to visit that day.

  • The institution head may delegate authority, to authorize clothed and/or unclothed body searches of visitors and search their property or vehicles, to staff at the level of correctional captain or higher. The Administrative Officer of the Day (AODAdministrative Officer of the Day) shall exercise this authority in the absence of appropriate staff.

  • The visiting supervisor/watch commander shall advise the captain/administrator in charge of visiting of a search of a minor. During non-business hours the AODAdministrative Officer of the Day shall be notified.
