54030.9.10 Contraband

Anything not permitted, in excess of the maximum quantity permitted, no longer functioning as designed, that has been modified or tampered with, or which is received or obtained from an unauthorized source is contraband. Possession of contraband may result in disciplinary action and confiscation of the contraband (CCRCalifornia Code of Regulations, Title 15, Section 3006).

The incarcerated person shall be given a written notice for any item(s) of personal and authorized state-issued property that is removed from their quarters during an inspection or search and the disposition made of such property. The notice shall also list any contraband or any breach of security noted during the inspection or search.
