Institutions shall document all cross-gender strip searches and cross-gender visual body cavity searches in accordance with DOMDepartment Operations Manual Section 52050.16.5, and shall document all cross-gender pat-down searches of female inmates in accordance with DOMDepartment Operations Manual Section 52050.16.4 utilizing the Notice of Unusual Occurrence (NOU). Completed NOU forms shall be reviewed by the supervisor and routed to the institutional PCM to retain for audit purposes. If the search is incidental to an emergency or crime that constitutes a CDCRCalifornia Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Form 837, Crime Incident Report, the search shall also be documented within the incident report.
