54100.30 Joint Venture Program (JVP) Employer Related Grievances

The Department’s participation in the Joint Venture Program is authorized pursuant 15 CCRCalifornia Code of Regulations §§ 3480-3486. Any current or former Joint Venture inmate-employee who believes he or she has a grievance regarding a wage and hour or retaliation claim against a JVPJoint Venture Program employer shall submit the written grievance to the JVPJoint Venture Program Chief.

The JVPJoint Venture Program Chief shall attempt to resolve all complaints.

Time frames for filing grievances will be governed by the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement’s (DLSE) statutes of limitations, including but not limited to, Labor Code §98.7, and Code of Civil Procedure §§337, 338 and 339, for the appropriate type of complaint.

If the inmate is dissatisfied with the JVPJoint Venture Program Chief’s decision, the inmate may file a complaint with the Labor Commissioner.
