62090.3 Importance of Board Hearings

  • One of the most important times during incarceration for certain inmates and parole violators is their appearance before the BPHBoard of Parole Hearings (formerly Board of Prison Terms). All life sentence prisoners must appear before the BPHBoard of Parole Hearings (formerly Board of Prison Terms) to be considered for parole. Those inmates sentenced under the Indeterminate Sentence Law (ISLIndeterminate Sentence Law) or sentenced prior to 1985 to a term of one year and one day appear before the Board that provides them an opportunity for parole consideration. Inmates sentenced to one year and one day for offenses occurring after January 1, 1985, do not appear before the BPHBoard of Parole Hearings (formerly Board of Prison Terms).

  • The BPHBoard of Parole Hearings (formerly Board of Prison Terms) rules are set forth in CCRCalifornia Code of Regulations (15) (2) and in Administrative Directives issued by the BPHBoard of Parole Hearings (formerly Board of Prison Terms).
