The incarcerated population at Pleasant Valley State Prison (PVSP) in Coalinga held a multi-month campaign to gather hygiene items for those in need.
Falcon Pantry recently received the donation from the incarcerated population at PVSP.
The incarcerated population decided to collect newly purchased hygiene products from the prison canteen stores to donate to students in need at West Hills Community College (WHCC).
The incarcerated-person advisory council ran the months long campaign to gather the hygiene items. Thanks to their generosity, the student pantry was stocked with soap, toothpaste, and shampoo.
“The Falcon Pantry is open to all currently enrolled West Hills College students,” said Alex Perez, Executive Director of WHCC Foundation.
The pantry provides food and other essential items for students in need. It is part of the larger student well-being and basic needs resources effort at the college.
