Billy Sanders, a retired information technology (IT) supervisor II, passed away Jan. 10, 2026.

He began his career with the department in October 2013 when he assisted with and supervised the activation of a leased institution, California City Correctional Facility (CAC). He continued working at the institution until retired in 2022.
“Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones. Bill will be missed by his fellow co-workers and all who know him,” according to California State Prison, Los Angeles County.
