Remi, a retired Investigative Services Unit K-9 from North Kern State Prison, passed away Jan. 24, 2025.
Correctional Officer C. Norris and Remi reported to the K-9 academy in November 2017. After graduating, they reported for duty at North Kern State Prison in Delano. K-9 Remi, badge No. 91706, retired in December 2020 after serving the state of California for three years.
“Remi was a significant part of the Investigative Services Unit and had an impressive record of positive results in the discovery of illicit contraband,” according to the institution. “Remi also assisted other institutions across the State of California and was a highly respected partner. K-9 Remi will be missed by all. Our deepest condolences are extended to the Norris family and friends as they mourn the loss of their loved one.”
