David Hawpe, a retired correctional officer and a US Marine Corps veteran, passed away July 24, 2024. He was 63 years old.

After serving in the military, he went on to become a correctional officer, working at California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi and Chuckawalla Valley State Prison. He retired in 2021.
He is survived by his wife, eight children and nine grandchildren.
According to his family, he was deeply involved in his community, dedicating countless hours to coaching youth sports around Blythe.
Services were held Aug. 3.
