Region IV – Rancho Cucamonga Area

Region IV encompasses institutions located in the southernmost area of California. This region is essential in ensuring secure facility operations, delivering healthcare services, and implementing rehabilitative programs to support incarcerated individuals. Region IV institutions focus on fostering environments that prioritize safety, rehabilitation, and successful reintegration into the community. 

Area of Responsibility 

Region IV is responsible for the management and support of the following institutions: 

• Calipatria State Prison (CAL) 

• California Correctional Institution (CCI) 

• Centinela State Prison (CEN) 

• California Institution for Men (CIM) 

• California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) 

• Ironwood State Prison (ISP) 

• California State Prison, Los Angeles County (LAC) 

• Richard J. Donovan State Prison (RJD) 

These institutions work together to ensure secure operations and provide comprehensive healthcare and rehabilitation services designed to address the unique needs of their incarcerated populations. 

Collaborative Approach 

Region IV’s success relies on the collaboration between three divisions that collectively drive operational excellence: 

• Division of Adult Institutions (DAI): Oversees the secure and efficient operations of correctional facilities. 

• California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS): Provides medical, mental health, and dental care to the incarcerated population. 

• Division of Rehabilitative Programs (DRP): Offers rehabilitative programming, education, and vocational training to reduce recidivism. 

This collaboration allows Region IV to: 

• Streamline leadership oversight for consistent and efficient decision-making. 

• Deliver integrated healthcare and rehabilitative services across all institutions. 

• Focus on enhancing the safety, well-being, and successful reintegration of incarcerated individuals.

Region IV’s leadership team is composed of experienced professionals from DAI, CCHCS, and DRP who are committed to delivering high-quality services and ensuring effective operations.

• Rehabilitation and Reentry Support: Programs that address substance use, cognitive-behavioral challenges, and career readiness, aimed at reducing recidivism.
